This Day In (NHL) Hockey History April 2, 1976, Vancouver’s Curt Ridley stops all 28 shots as he backstops the Canucks to a 5-0 shutout win over the Oakland Seals, becoming the fifth goaltender in Vancouver Canucks history to record a shutout. It was Ridley’s only career shutout.

Curt Ridley was born on September 24, 1951, in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Ridley was a 28th overall draft pick of the Boston Bruins in 1971. Ridley played in the NHL from 1971-1981 for three teams: the New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks, and Toronto Maple Leafs.
