This Day In Hockey History June 14, 1994, the New York Rangers beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 in Game 7 of the 1994 Stanley Cup Final in New York City; it was the Ranger’s first Stanley Cup since 1940. Bryan Leetch scored the game’s first goal and was named the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy.
This Day In Ice Hockey History June 14, 1994, On the losing side, Vancouver’s Kirk McLean set an NHL playoff record for most minutes played in one playoff year (1544), surpassing the record of (1540) set by Ron Hextall of the Philadelphia Flyers set in 1987.
